First Poker Post on the Blog
Day 1 of Operation “Get Back on the Wagon” went off without a hitch today. I’ve opted to only play NL Holdem Heads Up Sit and Gos (2 people pay X amount of $’s and 1 person gets the money minus the rake at the end) and thus far it goes well. Being that it is a pretty unstable game that can have it’s swings, so I’m not saying that I have this thing figured out by any means. I won’t know whether I’m really beating them until I get a few hundred to a thousand under my belt.
Today I played 28 in total and went 18 – 10…64.29% bitches!
I wasn’t keeping track of hands that I wanted to put down, I’ll do better at that hopefully in the future (keep notepad up as I play or something), but this one hand was fun…almost felt bad for the guy. First hand of a rematch and this takes place. My stars name is replaced by “Hero” thus not divulging my superhero identity

The all in re-raise on the river was a bit of an exploitive play, but I truly put him on trip 6’s knew he’d call. Granted there is higher probability that the all in re-raise would push out a weaker hand and not gain me the added “milk”, while the small re-raise would have probably gotten me all his chips regardless given his aggression from the match before and the board. Only hands that beat him are QQ, JJ, 22, J6, 62, Q6, A6. Given my raise preflop it’s hard to put me on Q6, J6 or J2 so you can usually rule those out even though it is HU. Then again I think a good player would peel a call if he was re-raised there, and I think he was comfortable enough to call the all in with his hand. Most people probably wouldn’t get away from it in my opinion, but then again I could be wrong.
Obviously what followed next were a few choice words associated with Pokerstars being a scam and yada “>yada yada yada. It feels good to put in a solid number of hours online. The WSOP and Vegas in general got me back in the poker mood for sure, but I just couldn’t find the will to sit down and start grinding again when I got back home. I’m going to try to put in a solid 20 – 25 hours of poker, coupled with the hours I put in with the business, it will be a lot of work. Not much else to say…going to celebrate my in the black Day 1 by sleeping!
Also I finished my Excel spreadsheet that keeps track of all winnings earned, rake paid, FPP earned, win %, and total games played with as little typing as possible! Who needs to spend 100$ on Pokertracker? Not me! I don’t need graphs to tell me I’m playing well, or something like that.
